The combined challenges of low temperatures, low atmospheric pressure, and limited oxygen place exceptional demands on combustion stability and emissions control.

To address these conditions, HOLY SHIELD adapted its 3T+E high-temperature pyrolysis and gasification technology for high-altitude operation. Key features include maintaining the secondary combustion chamber above 850°C, ensuring a flue gas residence time of at least two seconds, and incorporating an oxygen-enriched auxiliary combustion system. These measures help control dioxin formation. Testing recorded a dioxin emissions concentration as low as 0.035 ng TEQ/Nm³, well below the applicable national and Qinghai provincial limits.

The project also obtained a pollutant discharge permit and is reported to be the first small-scale municipal solid waste treatment installation in China’s high-altitude regions to secure this authorization.
