Holy Shield has been focusing on the research of solid waste treatment. Today, I will share the main characteristics of the three methods of landfill, incineration and composting, and make a simple comparison.

1. Landfill:

Landfill is divided into two technologies: simple landfill and sanitary landfill.

Simple landfill is generally to choose a mountain col or dig a huge pit on the outskirts of the city, and dump the collected garbage into it. When the garbage is filled, do some covering work on the garbage heap to cover the garbage. Simple landfill has less investment and simple operation, but covers a large area. Landfill leachate will cause serious pollution to groundwater and soil, and the odor generated by garbage dumping will seriously affect air quality.
Sanitary landfill is to lay an anti-seepage isolation layer at the bottom of the landfill, and discharge the generated landfill leachate for treatment to prevent the leachate from polluting groundwater and soil, and at the same time, the biogas generated by garbage fermentation is exported for use or reasonable discharge. . The advantages of sanitary landfill are that it has strong applicability, can accept various wastes, large processing capacity, and low initial investment and operating costs. The disadvantage is that the landfill site has strict requirements on the site, the site selection is relatively difficult, and the area is large.
Landfills are generally suitable for areas with a small population and abundant land resources. Sanitary landfill is the main method of waste disposal in China at this stage.
2. Waste Incineration:
Waste incineration is a high-temperature heat treatment technology, that is, a method of sending waste into an incinerator for incineration to achieve volume reduction, weight reduction and harmlessness of waste treatment. In industrialized countries, incineration has been widely used.
The advantages of waste incineration are:
(1) The area is small, which is particularly important for cities with tight land use;
(2) The degree of volume reduction and volume reduction is high, generally 90% volume reduction and 80% volume reduction;
(3) Thorough disinfection, the high temperature generated by the incinerator can completely decompose the harmful substances in the garbage, and completely kill the pathogens in the garbage; the gas and smoke generated by the combustion are discharged up to the standard after treatment, and the secondary pollution is small;
(4) The heat energy generated by waste incineration can be used for power generation and heating, turning waste into treasure

Of course, the incineration method also has its limitations: large investment, complex operation, high management costs, and the flue gas generated in the incineration process must be effectively dealt with by investing a lot of money. Holy Shield has been committed to the research of incinerators with simple management and small investment. Welcome to communicate with us.
3. Garbage composting:
Composting is to separate the organic components from the garbage, add certain additives for fermentation, and then further process them into fertilizers. Composting technology has a simple process and is suitable for the treatment of garbage with high perishable organic matter, but it cannot completely treat all garbage, and other treatment methods are generally required at the same time.
Due to the unstable quality of the fertilizer produced by waste composting and encountering market problems, in the past 20 years, my country's urban waste composting has been experiencing a process of stagnation or even shrinkage. The principles of garbage disposal in developed countries are as follows: firstly, recycling as much as possible, including recycling of biodegradable organic matter such as composting and anaerobic digestion; secondly, incinerating combustibles as much as possible ; followed by landfilling of waste that cannot be otherwise disposed of.
